KRISTEN STEWART :: BIOGRAPHY
Kristen Jaymes Stewart was born in Los Angeles, California on April 9, 1990 to stage manager and television producer John Stewart and script supervisor Jules Mann-Stewart. She was the second child, having an older brother named Cameron. As a child, Kristen lived in Las Angeles, moved to Colorado for a few years, and then moved back to Las Angeles. Kristen attended school until seventh grade, when she decided to pursue her acting career and was homeschooled from them on.

Kristen first began acting at the age of eight when her manager discovered her while she was performing a school play. Soon after this, she landed her first role on the Disney Channel Original Movie The Thirteenth Year, a TV movie about a boy who turns into a mermaid. Although her role was small, this role helped her to transition into another role in the independent film The Safety of Objects. Kristen played the role of a tomboy daughter of a struggling mother. Despite only having participated in smaller roles, Kristen landed one of the lead roles in the major motion picture Panic Room, where she starred along with Jodie Foster. Kristen portrayed the character of Sarah, the diabetic daughter of a single mother whose house is broken into. Soon after Panic Room, Kristen won another part in a big name movie, Cold Creek Manor, starring as the daughter of Dennis Quaid and Shannon Stone. Following these supporting roles, Kristen finally landed the lead role in a family movie, Catch that Kid, and later in a thriller film Undertow.

Kristen once again proved herself as an incredible actress and cemented herself a place in Hollywood when she starred in the movie Speak, a dark film about a high school freshman who is raped and all the emotions that she goes through. Kristen received much praise for her amazing portrayal of Melinda Sordino in this role. Kristen met her current boyfriend Michael Angarano on the set of this film. Following Kristen’s role in Speak, she appeared in another family movie, Zathura, a science fiction children’s movie about a house that gets turned into a space ship. Following Zathura, Kristen landed the role of Maya in the Fierce People and Jess in The Messengers.

Kristen began appearing in more roles as she got older, including the role of Lucy in In the Land of Women, playing the artistic daughter of a Meg Ryan. Kristen once again received great reviews when she portrayed the character of Tracy in Into the Wild, a film about a boy who runs away to live in the wildness of Alaska. The film was very successful. Around this time, Kristen was shooting another movie called Adventureland when Summit Entertainment announced that Kristen would star as Bella Swan in the new movie Twilight, which would be shot and produced later that year. Despite being cast as Bella, Kristen still appeared in small, independent films, including The Cake Eaters and The Yellow Handkerchief. After these smaller films, Kristen moved on to have a cameo role in Jumper and as Zoe in What Just Happened.

Production for Twilight began and the movie was released in November, 2008. Since the movie was such a large success, Summit announced they would shoot the entire Twilight series to become movies, starting off with New Moon. Adventureland premiered in 2009 and received positive reviews. Kristen is currently set to work on upcoming films, including New Moon, Welcome to the Rileys, The Runaways, and The Runaways.
